Audio_TS Folder. Anyone who's inserted a DVD into a computer and looked at the file structure will see both a Video_TS and an Audio_TS folder. The "TS" stands for title set.
In almost all cases, the Audio_TS folder will be empty. All of the files, including the audio for the video files will be in the Video_TS folder.
DVD is actually an acronym for "digital versatile disc", and when the standards for DVDs were written, the creators envisioned DVDs not only with video content, like movies, but also more advanced audio content, like SA (Super Audio) CDs, that were introduced in 1999, but were discontinued after music buyers chose iTunes and iPods, introduced by Apple in 2001.
SACDs did use the Audio_TS folder, but today DVD content is all found in the Video_TS folder. However, since first generation DVD players require both folders to be present in order to read and play the disc, the Audio_TS folder, even empty, is always included.
