Download the firmware you need fromCanon Website
Format your CF Flash card in your camera
Copy the firmware into the CF Card
Insert the card into the camera
Turn the camera on,
Navigate to current firmware version.
In this case it is 1.2.5
Select the firmware version by rotating the dial in your camera.
Gives you the option to update.
The update program loads.
Select the new firmware version.
In my case it is 7D00206, which is 2.06
Make sure the battery of the camera is fully charged.
This will take some time.
Now it should show, update is complete, from 1.2.5 to 2.06.
Set your date and time.
Go back to menu to see the current version and you are done.
